TeRABIT at the Supercomputing Symposium

09 September 2024

On the occasion of the 110th National Congress of the Italian Physical Society (SIF), held in Bologna from 9 to 13 September, Mauro Campanella will participate in the Supercomputing Symposium with the TeRABIT project. His presentation, scheduled for 10 September, will focus on the potential of TeRABIT, with particular attention to a case study developed in collaboration with OGS, representing a step forward in near real-time seismic shaking evaluation.

The session dedicated to supercomputing, organised by ICSC – National Research Centre in High Performance Computing, Big Data and Quantum Computing, provides a platform for discussion on the latest research in the field of physics and HPC, highlighting advanced solutions enabled by high-performance computing, such as numerical simulations, machine learning and artificial intelligence.

Projects related to computing centres and data centres across Italy will be presented, which will be integrated into the distributed infrastructure of the National Centre, showcasing the benefits that the HPC and Big Data ecosystem can offer to the scientific community.

The symposium is also a space for reflecting on the development of skills for big data management and the ethical use of AI in scientific research. For the complete programme of the Supercomputing Symposium, visit: https://2024.congresso.sif.it/topic/simposio-sul-supercalcolo
